Capture Log Stain - Flex Tint 10.5 Oz Cartridges
Why Flex Tint for Capture Log Stain?
• Right color, right quantity, right now: It’s like your own mobile paint store. You choose how many of each color to always have on hand with pails of neutral base. No need to leave the jobsite.
• Easy to mix: A caulk gun, a drill-driven paint mixer, and 5-7 minutes are all that’s needed.
• Same performance: It’s the same color, durability, and application you’ve come to expect from Capture Log Stain.
Where to Use Capture Flex Tint
• Use only with the Capture Log Stain neutral base. Do not use with pre-mix.
Where Not to Use Capture Flex Tint
• Capture Flex Tint should not mix in with other stain brands or products.
Sashco Capture Features & Benefits
• Brings out logs' natural beauty.
• So elastic it bridges gaps of small cracks.
• Loaded with highest-quality UV inhibitors and trans-oxide pigments.
• Easily maintained with Cascade.
How To Use Capture Log Stain
• Bare Wood/New Construction: Apply 1 coat of Capture and 1 coat of Cascade for the normal build. Be sure to allow each coat to dry at least 8 hours before applying the next coat.
• Maintenance Coat: Capture will need a maintenance coat after several years. Do not allow Capture to weather down to bare wood. Instead, Capture is ready for a maintenance coat once it has lost its sheen and starts looking dull. At this point, first clean the logs to remove dirt and mold. Once the surface is clean, in most cases one coat of Capture will be sufficient.
Sashco Capture Coverage Rate
• 1st coat: 150-250 sq. ft. per gallon.
• 2nd coat: 250-350 sq. ft. per gallon.
• As with all stains, coverage will vary depending upon roughness and porosity of the wood.
Tint Cartridge Sizing
• Use one full 10.5 oz. cartridge for every 5-gallon pail of Sashco’s Capture neutral base.
• Do not dilute the tint pack. Using less tint will diminish overall stain durability and performance.
Capture Flex Tint Mixing Instructions
1) Remove peel & stick color label from cartridge. Apply to 5 gal. pail next to the lot #/UPC label near the pail lid.
2) Remove lid from 5 gal. pail of Capture Log Stain neutral base.
3) Cut cartridge nub with Exacto knife or cigar cutter.
4) Insert cartridge into standard caulking gun. Engage plunger until just secure in the gun.
5) Gun out product. Empty the entire contents of the cartridge into a 5 gal. pail of Capture Log Stain neutral base. When empty, a small amount of the tint will remain at the very top of the cartridge. The cartridge is filled with a little extra so final color is not affected.
6) Mix thoroughly using a drill-driven paint mixer for 5 to 7 minutes. Tint should be evenly distributed and no solids left in the bottom of the pail. There should be no streaks or milkiness.
7) Mix stain periodically throughout application. Turn the drill on for a few seconds every 20-30 minutes to ensure tint remains evenly distributed and doesn’t settle to the bottom.
Cleanup and Storage:
• While still wet, clean tools and equipment with soap and water. Discard empty containers in the trash.
• To avoid dislodging cartridge plunger, do not crush. Follow pail storage instructions for mixed stain. Do not dilute tint.

Product Questions
-
Can you use a partial cartridge for a lighter color?
No this is not recommended. The color will be difficult to replicate and durability will be ruined. It would be better to choose a lighter color with proper pigment load that way you get the color you're looking for.
-
Will the Flex Tint be identical to the Capture and Transformation Pre-Mixed?
In final appearance yes. The mixing method is different and additional items are added to flex tint to ensure the pigments stays suspended.
-
Can Flex Tint be mixed with other company neutral based stains?
No. Flex Tint is specifically formulated for Sashco stains.
-
How long do you have to mix Flex Tint?
Stir until completely mixed which is about 3-5 minutes. The pigments can settle after about 15 minutes so regular mixing is still a must.
-
Can I get the Dark Walnut color of Capture in the pre-mix version?
No, Dark Walnut is not available in pre-mix and is only offered in the Flex-Tint tubes
