Product Questions
-
Is it normal for the CCA Shakes to be darker than the Natural Shakes?
Yes, the CCA pressure treatment process typically turns cedar shakes a medium to dark brown color.
-
Can these be used as wall shingles? I have these same size/style shingles on 3/4 of my house and would like to finish out the remaining area.
There should be no problem to apply the 24" Shakes in a sidewall setting. These shakes are thicker and rougher textured than the sidewall shingles, but the application procedures will remain the same. I would just be sure to follow the instructions in the CSSB Exterior and Interior Wall Manual for applying 24" Handsplit Shakes.
