Sikkens Cetol 1 is a premium, translucent, exterior wood base coat to be used with Sikkens Cetol 23 Plus. Its superior oil alkyd formulation offers excellent penetration and adhesion to vertical wood surfaces. Sikkens Cetol 1 offers superior UV protection, and is highly transparent, water repellent, weather resistant, flexible, and breathable.

Sikkens Cetol 1 Recommended Uses
• Sikkens Cetol 1 may be used as the first and possible second coat for the Cetol 1/Cetol 23 Plus system.
• Sikkens Cetol 1 may also be used on its own as a three (3) coat system for specific purposes (i.e. outdoor furniture and fences).

Sikkens Cetol 1 Coverage Rate
• Sikkens Cetol 1 covers approximately 250-350 sq. ft./gal. on smooth wood and 200 – 300 sq. ft./gal. on rough wood.

Sikkens Cetol 1 Application Instructions
• Apply Sikkens Cetol 1 with a long-haired, natural-bristle brush. Spray or roller not recommended.
• Sikkens Cetol 1 is touch dry after 3-4 hours. It is recoatable after minimum 24 hours usually at 68°F (20°C) at 65% relative humidity.
• During application, the moisture content of wood should not exceed 18%.
• Do not apply when wet weather conditions or frost/dew are forecasted within 5 hours of application.
• Cleaning of Equipment: Mineral spirits /paint thinner.

Sikkens Cetol 1 Use Restrictions
Cetol 1 RE, the reduced-emission version of Cetol 1, will be sent when shipping to one of the following restricted areas.

• Cetol 1 RE should be used in place of Cetol 1 for the following states: CT, DC, DE, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, and N.E. Corner of Virginia (Counties - Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William, Spotsylvania & Stafford; Cities - Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Fredericksburg, Manassas, & Manassas Park). Cetol 1 RE is only available in the above mentioned areas.
  
• All sizes of standard formula Cetol 1 are available if you live in the following counties in California:
